The Capital Grille (+ giveaway!)
If you’ve been following our blog for awhile, you probably picked up that as Westsiders we tend to stay on the west side for most things, especially food. But every now and then something will drag us to the East side, and we usually make sure it incorporates food somehow. This time we were invited over there by The Capital Grille in Lyndhurst to try their Cocktail Time menu.
What is Cocktail Time? It’s Capital Grille’s take on happy hour which runs Monday-Friday from 4:00-7:00 pm. They have an exclusive menu for those who want tasty cocktails and delicious food. You can enjoy special Cocktail Time plates, entrees and drinks in the comfy, yet elegant lounge.
They offer a unique take on the traditional happy hour drink: the bottled cocktail. For $10 you get your cocktail already made in the bottle and you can pour straight from it into your glass. They are very delicious and it’s kind of fun getting your drink served in a bottle. They offer three different types:
- Slow Ride: 1800 Silver Tequila, fresh grapefruit juice and ginger syrup.
- The Churchill: Maker’s Mark bourbon, lemon juice and hibiscus honey syrup.
- Nine to Five: Tito’s Vodka, fresh tangerine juice and elderflower cordial.
Broad tried the Slow Ride which was so tasty and perfect for a spring or summer day (or even when it’s cold). Beard had the Churchill which was great for a fall or winter drink, balanced but quite boozy. In addition to the cocktails, they also have local craft beers for $6 and tasty wines for $8 (Broad had the cab while Beard had the pinot).
The food offerings are also incredible. We were super lucky to be able to try some of them. They included:
- Charcuterie & Cheese Board (with out of this world gorgonzola and chorizo among other delicious meats and cheeses).
- Oysters Casino: oysters with bacon, caramelized onions and grana padano gratin.
- Three different slider varieties:
- Bacon Cheeseburger: with white cheddar and tomato jam.
- Korean Fried Chicken: with gochujang glaze, kimchee slaw and peanut vinaigrette.
- Mini Tenderloin: with wild mushrooms and herbed cheese.
Everything we had was so tasty. Broad’s favorites were the Korean fried chicken sliders and the oysters. Beard was really into the charcuterie board (the fennel salami especially), along with the oysters.
Even though it’s all the way on the super far Eastside that feels like forever away but is in actuality only like, 20 minutes away from us, we know know we’ll have to head back to try some of the larger, shareable cocktail plates such as: Tuna Tartare with Avocado, Mango and Sriracha; Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella; Pan Fried Calamari with Hot Cherry Peppers; or the Lollipop Lamp Chops.
If you live on the Eastside, make sure to stop by for Cocktail Time one night! If you live on the Westside like us, contact us and maybe we’ll carpool!
The folks at Capital Grille were kind enough to supply a $50 gift card for a giveaway. Head to our Instagram for a chance to win!
*Disclosure: We were invited by The Capital Grille to attend a complimentary tasting. As always, all opinions are 100% our own*
I love the Capital Grille – it’s definitely worth the trip for the West Siders 🙂 Their bone-in filet is to die for.
Everything looks so so delicious! I’ll have to try this place!
