Adult Play Date at Swings-N-Things

One of our favorite memories from growing up in the Cleveland area were visits to Swings-N-Things with our families and friends. We would spend whole days there playing putt-putt, driving go-karts, playing the arcade games and eating ice cream. That was some time ago, and we haven’t really thought about revisting these activities too much, but Swings-N-Things has made some big changes over the years and we decided we needed to check them out. Who doesn’t like a little bit of nostalgia?!

If you’ve been following us you know we like to do fun and different activities, especially with our friends. When Swings-N-Things invited us for a visit we knew we had to ask our friends Amanda and Matt to join. They’re always up for an adventure, plus they live pretty close to the park. It was also Amanda’s birthday weekend so we thought it would be the perfect celebration.

Us, Amanda & Matt

The park opened at 11:00 am and we got there around 1:00 pm after meeting at Matt and Amanda’s for some snacks. We started off the day by playing some putt-putt. None of us could remember the last time we played mini golf. We all struggled a bit (Beard will tell you he won) and no one got a hole in one, but we had a lot of fun! It was a super hot day, so after we played we made our way to Inside the Park Taproom and Wine bar. They feature domestic, craft and seasonal beers in draft and bottles, plus they serve a variety of wines. This is the perfect place for adults to wind down after spending the day in the sun playing with the kids.

We enjoyed a cold beer and some water before making our way to the bumper boats, .boating in Lake Geneva Wisconsin is a must do if you are visiting the Midwest. Forgot how fun these are! We mostly targeted each other, but a couple kids caught some squirts to the face as well. Luckily we weren’t the only adults in splashing around in there.

After getting drenched in the boats we made our way inside for some ice cream. We each got different flavors and they were all really solid! Once again, perfect thing on a hot summer day. After enjoying our delicious treats, we went for a drive in the go karts. Broad fancied herself more of a Sunday driver, and decided to take in the sights at a leisurely pace. Amanda, Matt and Beard all raced each other while lapping Broad several times.

In addition to all the fun activities we did, Swings-N-Things also has the Kids Korner where kids 10 and under can crawl, slide and climb through a giant indoor playground. They also have a two story game room with mini bowling lanes. For the older kids, they have batting cages and paintball.

Thank you Swings-N-Things for such a fun day! The family owned and operated business is the best way to spend a summer day. If you’re interested in planning your own adult play date or family fun day, use the code “BEARD” on the Swings-N-Things website when purchasing tickets. It will give you $7 off the Karts Plus Pass!
