Favorite Baby Products: 6 Months In

Atticus’s favorite seat

As soon as we made it to the second trimester and things started to really feel real, we (Julia) started researching baby items. She went deep into Google, Reddit,  Tik Tok and talked to all her friends to find out what we really needed. The thing with out friends is that most of them have children at least 5 years old and older so there was a whole new world of baby items out there they didn’t even know about.

Now that Atticus is 6 months old, we feel like we can confidently recommend some of our most loved and most used baby items. We have provided a link for all the items, but also, don’t be afraid to search for gently used items on Facebook Marketplace, eBay, etc. because you truly won’t know what you and your baby will like, and the worst thing to do is spend a ton of money of something only for your baby to hate it.

the Lovevery mat is the BEST

Baby Gear

  • Baby Bjorn Bouncer. We also have a Baby Delight bouncer for the upstairs but Atticus really loves the Baby Bjorn one. Yes, it’s pricer than others but it’s definitely worth it.
  • Baby Bjorn Mini Carrier. This was great when he was a newborn. He fit so snug and safe in it.
  • Ergobaby Wrap. We used this around the house when Atticus was a newborn.
  • Artipoppe Zeitgeist Carrier. This is one of the most expensive items we own but it’s well worth it. We started using it when Atticus was around 3 months old. It puts no strain on our backs and he fits so comfortably in it.
  • Nanit Monitor with Floor Stand. We didn’t start off with this monitor, it was gifted to us later. We really love having access to it on our phones and all the details it provides. (20% off with our link).
  • Snuggle Me Lounger. If Atticus could pick one item to be his favorite it would be this lounger. He loves it so much we had to buy the toddler size since he almost outgrew the infant size. To this day, if he’s having a bad day, we put him in it and he’s instantly calm.
  • Skip Hop Ergonomic Chair. It’s so simple but Atticus loves sitting in this little chair.
  • 4moms Breeze Plus Playard. It’s so lightweight and sturdy. We love the changing table and bassinet insert.
  • Dagne Dover Diaper Backpack. We wanted a sturdy, unisex, backpack for our diaper bag and this one fit the bill perfectly.
  • Skip Hop Activity Center. Atticus is currently obsessed with playing in here now that he’s 6 months old.
  • Lovevery Play Gym. This was one of the top items we wanted and it’s lived up to the hype and more. We used it starting when he was a newborn and are still using it. It’s withheld 6 months of baby, cats and dogs playing on it.
  • Play Mat. We use this under the Lovevery mat and it will eventually go in the baby play pen. It’s support soft and padded and easy to clean.
  • BIBS Pacifiers. Atticus doesn’t use a pacifier often and was so picky about which ones he liked. BIBS was clear winner.
  • Burp Cloths. You can never have enough burp cloths. We love how soft these ones and the designs are so cute.
  • Bandana Drool Bibs. Atticus is teething so he’s extra drooly. These bibs are so soft and they have the best prints.
  • Halo Sleep Sacks. We tried so many different brands but Atticus loves Halo. He loved their velcro swaddle too.
  • Inflatable Baby Seat. Our favorite way to have Atticus on the porch with us.

Bath and Toiletries

  • Diaper Cream Brush. Just BUY it, you need it.
  • Tubby Todd All Over Ointment. Another item worth the hype. Atticus has sensitive skin and this works on everything, even cradle cap. We love that it’s not greasy at all.
  • Aquaphor Healing Ointment. You already know Aquaphor fixes everything, even on babies.
  • Angelcare Bath Tub. We were so scared to bathe Atticus when we brought him home but this tub made us feel so much safer.
  • Bath Kneeler. This was something we didn’t think we needed and bought later. Such a relief on the elbows and knees when bathing baby.
  • Oogiebear Nose Cleaner. WOW, this is magic. One of our most used products and might be Julia’s all time favorite product.
  • Baby Nail Trimmer. Ben has taken it upon himself to be in charge of Atticus’s nails and this is the easiest way to tackle them.

Nursery

  • Skip Hop Changing Pad. This one was less expensive than the fancy one but still more pricey than others. It’s well worth it.
  • Ubbi Diaper Pail. This isn’t an absolute need for everyone. We use ours in the nursery and when we change diapers downstairs we just throw them in the outside trash.
  • Hatch Rest Sleep Machine. There are many different types of white noise machines but we love everything this one has to offer.
  • Baby Throw Blanket. Love these blankets for on the couch, in the stroller, or in the car.

Travel

  • Momcozy Bottle Brush Set. The best way to clean your bottles and pump parts on the go.
  • Portable Changing Pad. This one is bigger than so many others which is important because we have a big baby! It folds up nicely and is easy to clean.
