Meat Me at the Deli Counter
If you follow us on Instagram you’ve probably seen our weekly segment “Strange Sandwich Sunday.” It has quickly become the thing we’re best known for. While we do enjoy trying all these unique and strange sandwiches that all of you suggest, we still really enjoy good, classic sandwiches with quality deli meats. When Kretschmar Deli Meats popped up on our radar we knew we had to try them because we are always looking for the freshest, tastiest meats to make the perfect sandwich.

The Old World Series includes the classics: Bologna, Braunschweiger and Olive loaves. Our personal favorite collection is the Off The Bone deli meats. The texture of these is the most natural and just reminds us of those holiday meals eating ham and turkey with our families.
Broad usually prefers salami and bologna when it comes to sandwich meat, but Beard prefers turkey and ham. In order to stay in line with our goal of eating healthier, we’ve been trying to stick to buying turkey and less processed meats since they are the “healthier” choices from the deli. Our favorites are the Off The Bone Honey Ham, Off The Bone Ham and Off The Bone Turkey.
Our go-to weekend lunches are usually sandwiches. Normally, we’ll grab some tasty chips or a delicious side and get cozy on the couch while we catch up on our shows. We recently came up with an amazing sandwich using Kretschmar deli meats that we’re pretty proud of:
Beard & Broad Spicy Supreme Sandwich
- 2 slices bread. We prefer rye.
- 3 slices Kretschmar Off The Bone Ham
- 3 slices Off The Bone Turkey
- 2 slices Monterey Pepper Jack Cheese
- tomato slices
- lettuce
- mayonnaise
- spicy mustard
- jalapeño pub cheese
On one slice of bread spread a thin layer of mayonnaise. On top of the mayonnaise, spread a thin layer of spicy mustard. On the other slice of bread spread a generous layer of pub cheese. On one of the challah buns add your lettuce, then spread out the tomato slices on the other. Next, layer the ham, turkey and Pepper Jack cheese. Put together, cut in half and enjoy with a friend!
